The waves I rode to reach my sacred bridge

“A guru is not a crutch; he is a bridge.”

A guru is not someone who comes to offer support, He is the golden bridge which transports you from a state of unconsciousness to sublime consciousness.

Jai Brahmarishi Mohanji!

I offer, at the lotus feet of my beloved Guru Mohanji, the experience of my very first encounter with Brahmarishi Mohanji and the Divine grace which entered my life.

Mohanji - Deloshni Govender

I have always been a “spiritual” seeker and have always been intrigued by Masters/Gurus but never had any urge to find one. I was in a very deep state of depression after I was forced to accept a job 600km away from my family owing to financial constraints. I had a lot of anger and stored emotions within me and truly felt that life owed me more than I was given.

In October 2013, my husband called to tell me that there was a “Guru” speaking at the Ganesha Chathurthi puja in Durban. I was uninterested. My husband was fortunate enough to meet the said Guru and told me that he was indeed a great man and I should meet him when he came to Gauteng. Again uninterested. The veil of negative fog surrounding me was indeed thick. My husband gave me the contact number of the person running the Guru’s programme and I called a few times with no success so I felt that this was really a sign that this was not for me.

A few weeks later, when I went home, my husband joyfully presented me with the book “The Power of Purity”. I accepted it with thoughts of it being “yet another book by yet another Guru!”. I opened the book and found the words “To Deloshni, With Love, M”. As I type this, waves of energy are pulsing through my body as I feel the sanctity of that moment. But at that time, I didn’t realise the grace which was being delivered. I was only later to understand the impact of what had happened. Mohanji had blessed my husband and GIFTED the book to him but autographed the book to ME!

mohanji-by-deloshni-govender.jpg

I wasn’t fortunate to meet Mohanji during his visit to SA and the book lay in my flat for a few weeks unopened due to my depression and general disinterest in life. One afternoon, out of boredom I opened the book and started reading it. The words started stirring something within me. The crystal clear clarity of the messages was astounding! I was finally beginning to understand this existence! The meditation which came with the book was even more mind blowing and took me to an inner space of deep peace. I found myself more relaxed and accepting of myself and the life I have chosen. The book became my permanent companion. I never went anywhere without it. I would even have colleagues at work approach me and request me to open any page to see what lesson we could learn that day.

A few weeks later I met Mohanji for the first time but it was not a physical meeting. I now understand that we had an astral meeting. I had a very vivid “dream”. I awoke feeling every sensation like it had actually happened. I dreamed that I was in a battle of sorts with Mohanji and His followers. I dreamed that each time Mohanji would come close to me, I would run and my “friends” would help me escape. This was the type of experience which went on all night long but at the end of the dream I found myself alone. Mohanji was also finally alone. He was dressed in white and walking towards me, towering over me. I began running backwards in fear unable to take my eyes off Him. As He advanced, I slipped and fell onto my back and shouted “Bhagawan Shree Sathya Sai Baba ki Jai!!!” (Hail to the Divine Lord Sathya Sai Baba) and then “Om Shakthi, Parashakthi” (Divine Feminine energy). Mohanji reached out to me. He was just pure light. He picked me up, embraced me and called me affectionate names while holding me. He said to me “Why are you running from me? You are an enlightened being” and he continued to console and comfort me. He then took me to a room with a table in it and we both sat at the table and like a teacher he began teaching me. Up to this day, I have no idea what he taught me that night.

After the dream, I was in a daze for a few days and didn’t know what to think of it all. I researched this Guru online and tried to see how best I could contact Him. I did not know that He was on Facebook but I did find His profile on Speaking Tree. I sent Him a message about my encounter and to my utter delight I received the following message a few days later, “Dear Deloshni, I forwarded your message to Him, as Mohanji does not check this profile directly. He read your message and told you He is always with you and you are protected, there is nothing to worry about. Love Biljana Vozarevic, Mohanji Foundation.” My life changed drastically within those months. I was blessed to meet Mohanji in His physical aspect in December that year and He gave me Shaktipat at Arunachala. The growth, peace and love which I have since been graced with is evident in the smile I have on my face these days.

mohanji-giving-shaktipat-to-delo

My Guru came to me as destined and at the time it was destined. As I now realise, the meeting with the Guru need not be a physical encounter. I rode many waves of despair, fatigue and anguish in life but I will ride them all over again if they take me to His feet. He appeared and provided a bridge for me between unconsciousness and sublime consciousness. I have never in my life felt this connected to the Divine despite the many rituals and japa I used to do. My Baba (Mohanji) bridged the gap and allowed me to constantly feel divine love. Even though gratitude is just a word, only my heart knows what I truly wish to express as gratitude. Love you always and over all lifetimes, Baba.

Jai Brahmarishi Mohanji Jai!!!!

Miracles of Lord Hanuman

 Lord Hanuman - miracles

Lord Hanumanji - miracles - intro

Manojavam Marutatulyavegam Jitendriyam Buddhimatam Varishtham
Vatatmajam Vanarayuthamukhyam Shriramadutam Sharanam Prapadye

Lord Hanuman, the one Who is Swift as the Mind and Fast as the Wind, who is the Master of the Senses, and Honoured for His Excellent Intelligence, Learning and Wisdom, Son of the Wind God and Chief among the “Vanaras” (Who were part of the Devas incarnated in the species of the monkeys to serve Sri Rama during His Incarnation), To that Messenger of Sri Rama, I take Refuge (by prostrating before him).

Treta Yuga (The era of Lord Rama) is long gone, however, Lord Hanuman exists even today. He exists in the form of our devotion, utmost surrender to our Gurus and divine. He exists to show us the presence of supreme consciousness, the Para Brahma. Time and again, many devotees have experienced the presence, incarnation and vision of Lord Hanuman.

Needless to say, the one who has eyes can only see! God is everywhere!

One such miraculous appearance of Lord Hanuman happened through the form of our ‘aradhya’, (Respectful) the one in whom we see supreme consciousness – Mohanji.  This happened recently while Mohanji was in Palakkad, Kerala and on the auspicious day of 4th anniversary celebration of Shirdi Sai Baba temple in Palakkad.

This miraculous appearance was not just visualised by one person, but multiple people. The grace didn’t even stop there, this appearance was even experienced by another devotee thousands of miles away, many days after this actually happened, just by mere watching photos!

Unbelievable, it may seem, but the sincere and true account from the people who witnessed it directly says it all. Here is a compilation of the  experiences by three people who have witnessed this event directly.

Experience sharing by Mahesh Bhalerao

I was very fortunate to meet and receive blessings from the most unassuming and humble Siddha Saint Devi Amma at Her residence in Bangalore. This is the second time I was meeting Her. I had met Her earlier with Mohanji.

Last time Devi Amma explained the secret of why She is holding the pillow all the time near her stomach area. It was a very interesting story and we all laughed. I really love to listen to Her voice when She speaks, as every single word is very divine, loving, full of energy. Mohanji considers Devi Amma as His own mother. Agastya Muni had told Devi Amma that Mohanji is His son and Devi Amma also considers the great Sage as Her father.

This time around like a child, I requested Her to tell us a story and She explained how She met Hanumanji for the first time and how Hanumanji Himself confirmed His identity.

Hanumanji made Her listen to His each and every breath and His every hair saying Ram, Ram, Ram, to confirm His identity.

Remembering that explanation makes me feel amazed every time.

While leaving Devi Amma’s place, She gave me a paper bag saying it has some fruit and specifically an orange for Mohanji, an apple for Mila and a pomegranate for Devi Mohan.

I kept the bag carefully not to lose or misplace it during my travel from Bangalore to Palakkad. I was travelling to Palakkad to be present for the 4th Vardhapan Ceremony of the Shirdi Sai temple in Palakkad. As soon as I reached Mohanji’s house, I met Him prostrated at His feet and got His blessings. Mohanji, very lovingly commanded me to freshen up and get ready to go the temple. Least at that point, did I know what I was going to witness soon! Anyway, I freshened up and wore a new dhoti that was gifted by Priti, and all excited, I went to Mohanji again with the fruit bag that Devi Amma had sent for Him.

Mohanji was sitting with Appa Murali, a great devotee of Maa Kali. Meeting various divine masters and receiving their blessings making my life extremely fulfilling, has been only possible due to my Gurudev, Mohanji’s grace.

The time came to hand over the fruit bag, I did explain to Mohanji that each fruit was for specific person and that the orange was for Him.

Soon after, all of us present in that room witnessed an amazing play of divine masters, exhibiting the oneness.

Devi Maa had evoked Hanumanji in front of us when she delivered me the fruits! As soon as Mohanji received the orange, His upper lip started to swell up and was steadily growing outwards, His eyes were intense. His face turned clearly appearing as Lord Hanuman’s face!

Mohanji - Lord Hanuman manifests on His face - 1,2- Dec 2017

Witnessing this, I had no other reaction but the Maruti stotra was flowing out of my mouth and tears flowing.

“Bhimrupi maharudra vajra Hanuman Maruti
Vanaari Anjanisuta Ramduta prabhanjna”

Mohanji - Lord Hanuman manifests on His face - 3- Dec 2017

It was as if time stopped till I finished Maruti Stotra. When I finished the chant, Mohanji looked at me and asked me if I had completed the stotra and then asked everyone to move on and get going towards Sai temple for the ceremony. He could barely open His mouth and speak.

I looked at Devadas and his eyes were closed and my sister Anila was looking at me, trying to tell me that it was Hanuman with her hand actions. I was very happy and felt that if Hanuman Ji was with us, Shree Rama was with us too! Later on, I realized that Shree Rama was waiting for Mohanji in the form of Sai Baba at the temple.

We all reached the temple and Mohanji was received with lot of respect. Mohanji then proceeded to carry out the Dhwajarohan – a flag hoisting ceremony to formally inaugurate the three-day long Vardhapan programme.

Mohanji - Lord Hanuman manifests on His face - 4- flag - Dec 2017
While standing in front of the flagpole, surrounded by a lot of people, His face continued to change.

Mohanji always reminds us that CONNECTION, CONVICTION and CONSISTENCY are key to spiritual growth and I realised how true this is today. With the heart filled with unconditional love and devotion for Guru, it’s possible to experience what usually seems unbelievable. When doubts appear as clouds in our mind, we fail to see the light of truth. Then again, if we surrender completely, ignoring doubts, truth appears right in front of our eyes and enters our heart. We become inseparably one with our Guru, like Hanumanji with Lord Ram.

Deep gratitude Mohanji, for Your grace of giving me this amazing darshan!

At your feet Father… as always…, Jai Shree Brahmarishi Mohanji

Experience sharing by Jelena Fassbender

I have gone through various difficult situations in my life in recent times. But since I’ve connected to Mohanji, they were not just bearable, but very often smooth and even elegant. After my divorce, l didn’t have a place to stay. Within two weeks, l moved into a beautiful apartment and it is all because of Mohanji’s Grace. Mohanji loves me and takes care of me every moment. For the last couple of months, I have even had an opportunity to travel with Him to various places in India. Being in the close proximity of such a powerful master is a very deep cleansing process for myself and definitely a ladder for my spiritual growth. He knows what we need, when we need. Everything is provided and taken care of. All we need is to be available and open to receive. During this time of travelling around India with Him, I have had many amazing life changing experiences. One of such experiences, which opened something completely new, very subtle, I would like to share with you here. It helped me to understand Him better.

Jelena and MohanjiOn 28th of January, it was the inauguration of the programme to celebrate the 4th Anniversary of Shirdi Sai Temple in Palakkad, Kerala. As a guest of honour, Mohanji was invited to inaugurate the celebration. A couple of us were staying with Mohanji, at His parents’ house and just before we went to the temple, Mahesh Bhalerao, who had come that morning from Bangalore, brought a bag of fruit for Mohanji. That was a present from Devi Amma, a very warm, sweet, powerful authentic Siddha, who loves Mohanji as her son.

Devi Amma from Bangalore and Mohanji
Devi Amma, who gave Mahesh an orange for Mohanji, an apple for Mila and a pomegranate for Devi Mohan.

Mohanji - Lord Hanuman manifests on His face - 5- Dec 2017

At that moment, Mahesh told us, that Devi Amma was chanting Hanumanji’s mantra, while giving him the present for Mohanji! For those who are not familiar with the name Hanumanji, short explanation is that He was the bravest, the most loyal, persistent and ardent devotee of Lord Rama, who has a lot of value in scriptures like the Ramayana. In Hinduism He is one of the most worshipped deity, hidden behind the being who has a face like a monkey.

Mohanji is Hanumanji! Yes, Shiva has many forms!

In such a miraculous moment, we left the house and went to the Shirdi Sai temple. After He had received a warm welcome with priests applying sandalwood paste on His forehead and trustees garlanding him, Mohanji was invited to hoist the flag and begin the celebration. While standing in front of the flagpole, surrounded by a lot of people, His face continued to change. His upper lip became bigger and His cheeks became very firm, but He didn’t show any kind of confusion, on the contrary, Mohanji was standing there, as steady as a mountain. The moment He took the rope and started to raise the flag, I was blown away. His cheeks expanded even more, and the colour of His eyes changed into oily dark green.

His face continued to change. His upper lip became bigger and His cheeks became very firm.

Mohanji - Lord Hanuman manifests on His face - 11-12 Dec 2017

After a very powerful whole-day ceremony, we came home.

Mila, Mohanji’s daughter ran into His arms, asking, “Papa, what happened to your upper lip, you have no teeth, I can’t see your teeth.” Mohanji was smiling like a child and said: “Papa has teeth, can’t you see them?”

After a couple of days, three of us were sitting with Him and talking. I couldn’t keep all the impressions from that particular day within me anymore!

“We saw You as Hanuman that day” I said. He was smiling at me and said, “Where does Hanuman sit, when Lord Krishna is a Charioteer? Hanuman sits on the flag. Those who have eyes to see, will see.” It is interesting that most people assembled at the flag hoisting ceremony did not see anything. They did NOT notice the change on Mohanji’s face!

It’s important for me to mention though that during my 3-month-long travel with Mohanji, never before this event or post this event day, have I seen any changes in Mohanji face! I am convinced that what we saw on that day is not an ordinal physiological change. This was indeed a strong message to us, whoever could see and understand it. I am definitely one of the lucky ones!

Thank you, Mohanji, for giving me the opportunity to see! Once You said, “We’re on the path of annihilation, not entertainment. I’m the fire, be at least the flame!” I am eternally grateful for having an opportunity to witness and to understand, for the first time, more clearly than ever, what it means to be an empty vessel. Thank you my beloved Guruji Mohanji for giving me a chance to experience the Truth!

It’s all Your grace!

Endless love and gratitude at your Lotus Feet.

Experience sharing by Priti Bharadwaj

The last 10 years of my life have been an onslaught of many emotional roller coasters, the last one being an unwell child which shook the very core of my existence. As a mother, I couldn’t do anything to help my suffering child except pray, chant, hold on to faith and practice very badly at times, patience that everything would come out fine.  With Mohanji’s ongoing support, divine guidance and blessings, individual prayers and distance healing sessions, grace flowed.  After some painful treatments, karmic healing and spiritual understanding which had to take place, recovery took place and she got better very rapidly. Thank you Mohanji for guiding me and for being with me.

Despite this unbelievable full recovery of almost two-and- a-half years of a child’s sickness, unbeknown to me, the journey had taken its toll on me. Suddenly, after two very active years of looking after a sick patient day and night, I had nothing to do, no one to fill my empty moments of inactivity and I began asking a lot of questions. I couldn’t sit quietly to do any of my spiritual practices which I don’t forget. I thought I had to do 5000 hours of chanting, breathing, etc. to raise my vibrational level and get me out of tamas!

The mind became overactive, scrupulously clever and devious. As I was closely watching my thoughts, as a witness, a thought came in through the back door and before I knew it, I was overloaded with 5000 thoughts. Tamas was setting in deep taking me away from my active self. I became a ‘couch potato’. My spirit was stagnating down, spirally downwards.

I didn’t have any deep experiences of any kind to solidify my conviction that a higher awareness exists or any conviction at that time to hold on to. It became a Catch-22 situation – the more I thought the more it took me away from my conviction and faith, even though I was honoured to have met and spent time with Mohanji on many occasions. My mind wanted to meet a deeper aspect of who Mohanji is. My mind wanted to know more, I wanted a deep inner revelation to see who Mohanji is, to see a facet of this divine consciousness that we call Mohanji.

I attended the 2017 Himalayan Retreat with Mohanji on the ghats of the river Ganges. It was 100% joyous, all my earthly five senses were to the max, and I was abuzz with the aromas of the Ganga Aarti incense sticks which the fresh Himalayan winds were bringing to the cold nose. Ah those unforgettable perfumes! The wonderful sounds of devotees’ bhajans and colourful sights of the melodious aarti on the ghats of Ram Jhula, dancing with Mohanji and other devotees – every moment was unforgettable. The crisp cold dips in the Ganges together with jugs of freezing cold water poured from our Guru’s hands cleaning away karmas from life times after life times. The delicious homemade scrumptious tasty vegan dishes all cooked fresh three times a day tingled my taste buds. Precious days!

These wonderful sunny days at the Divine Resort in Rishikesh were blissful to say the least, however, the last day was approaching and my heart was sad it was coming to an end. I was beginning to experience love which, for whatever reason, I had failed to receive as a young child. I selfishly wanted to spend more time in the presence of our Guru hoping that my heart chakra could open. Luckily, I realised very quickly, at the first Satsang Mohanji conducted, that I had come with an expectation. So, I decided that the best course was to go and spend some time alone after the retreat contemplating in an ashram to quieten my buzzy mind. However, to my surprise this was not to be the end. My Guru had other plans for me! This was just the beginning of my travels in India along with Mohanji. There was much more to come. I was fortunate to be invited to travel with Him along with a few other devotees, to many other locations. So, I was braced for the ride of my life. Oh boy!

Unimaginable days passed during which we met masters and avadhootas, and visited many samadhis and powerful temples. The other devotees talked about their own experiences of visits with powerful masters. Over the six years that I have been with Mohanji, I have read many accounts of fabulous deep unforgettable experiences/dreams/visits at the astral level from masters and gods. I had none of the above! I felt maybe I was not worthy of any such astral experience until I perform at least 5000 million hours of Japa, or that I should clear more karmic baggage in order to receive. See where the mind could take you?

Priti Bhardvaj and Mohanji, avadhootas 2
Days passed during which we met masters and avadhootas, and visited many samadhis and powerful temples.

I had, however, experienced several instances where Mohanji protected me during my travels in India in some very tough situations: one was when our Guru made possible a small tyre fixing shop to be miraculously there in the middle of the vast un-inhabitable barren land in the middle of the Indian countryside.  My punctured tyre got repaired by the tyre shop keeper and I got to Pune airport in plenty of time for flight! Thank you Mohanji.

I was with Mohanji at his parents’ home in Palakkad recently, along with a couple of others. There was a special occasion of the 4th anniversary of Palakkad Shirdi Sai temple. Mohanji was one of the chief guests invited to attend this 3-day long programme. On the first day, Mohanji was supposed to hoist the flag and inaugurate the function. In the morning while we were busy getting ready for the day, I found that I had become the unofficial photographer (with my small Samsung phone which didn’t really take any good HD close-ups) as it was the only thing available.

Mahesh arrived very early that morning from Bangalore directly from Devi Amma who had sent fruit for Mohanji, Devi ji and Mila. Earlier as Devi Amma had handed this to Mahesh she had chanted a mantra invoking the deities’ essence into this gift, especially Lord Hanuman.

When Mohanji took this gift from Mahesh, I noticed that Mohanji’s lower lip had swollen up and the upper lip was steadily doing the same and His eyes were intense but still. By this time, Mahesh recognised Mohanji’s transformation and was on his knees chanting, he understood whom Devi Amma had invoked. I was slowly starting to realise what was happening in front of my very own eyes. I looked at Jelena to see if she had clocked what was going on. I saw from her face that she had also noticed the miracle that was unfolding. Mohanji’s face was physically changing in front of us into Hunumanji’s face, the half-monkey half-human devotee/servant/son of Ram and Sita.

Mohanji - Lord Hanuman manifests on His face - 13,14 - Dec 2017

I prostrated at Mohanji’s feet, Mahesh and Jelena did the same, tears started to well up, but I was in disbelief. I couldn’t believe what was taking place as my overactive mind was confused. I began to take photos snapping from as many different angles as possible to make sure what I was seeing was true and it was all recorded for other devotees to see. Frantically I kept on clicking pictures. None of the photos showed or mirrored exactly what I was physically seeing, that of, Mohanji’s lips increasing in size and cheeks puffing up. Why were my photos not showing what I could clearly see?

We had to leave on time to attend the flag hoisting ceremony at the Sai temple. Mohanji is always very punctual no matter what! No one said anything and there was a complete silence, but my mind was not silent – it was racing like mad in disbelief at what I was at first hand witnessing. Hanumanji was right here in front of me, the greatest devotee of God was present here in this very room, then car but for some reason I couldn’t take photos of this phenomenon!

I wanted to go live on Facebook and record all this or at least tell the whole world what was happening, even just to tell some of my close friends who knew Mohanji, what was happening. The problem was in my utter disbelief in this wonderful darshan of our greatest true Bhakta (devotee). My photos were at that time reflecting my inner self – my disbelief!  In order to record this miracle taking place I had to shut the mind down. Digest, accept and let everything unfold in silence, no questions.  Stop doing and just witness this beautiful miracle taking place in its full entity without the mind. Realisation dawned on me, I was not present. The mind had taken over.

Mohanji was briefed on the flag hoisting procedure and timings and my own awareness of the present moment was growing, I slowly started to see in my photos Hanumanji raising the orange flag. My mind was emptying slowly but surely. Silence was being established after a long time of noise.

Mohanji - Lord Hanuman manifests on His face - 15 Dec 2017
He was silent to the whole miraculous phenomenon that took place the day before. Mohanji hardly spoke about the incident at all.

It was later explained to me that at the top of Arjuna’s Chariot there’s an orange flag with a picture of Hanumanji flying high lovingly and powerfully protecting the chariot and the people in it. One incident from the Ramayana touched my heart. During the construction of the bridge from India to Sri Lanka Hanumanji’s devotion to Ram and Sita was so fervent and resolute, that He grew in size and laid across over the sea from India to Shri Lanka, so Ram could step over Him without falling into the sea, and continue His mission to rescue Sita from the Ravan’s clutches.

Many times during the inauguration day, my heart felt full with gratitude. Time and time again my eyes filled up with tears in realising the enormity of how fortunate we were to have such an unpretentious Guru in our lives. He works unselfishly and tirelessly every single moment of the day through His conviction and purity to raise the vibrations of the earth towards betterment for all species. Mohanji’s swollen face as Hanumanji Himself was fully visible for all to see and wonder, but He remained sincere and a true humble silent devotee to the Nath tradition. There was no huge drama or speech, He was the witness to the witness. Later, I showed Mohanji the pictures I put up on my personal Facebook profile, these were shots of Him as Hanumanji and still He was silent to the whole miraculous phenomenon that took place the day before. Mohanji hardly spoke about the incident at all.

A few days before this incident Mohanji had been asked by an old sincere true devotee/ priest of a Hanumanji temple just outside of Trissur, what would Mohanji like as a request to go forward. Mohanji answered without any hesitation was simply “please protect the entire Mohanji global family”. He could have asked for anything but chose (due to the turbulent planetary situation with Saturn) to ask for protection of the entire Mohanji group. The old priest said, “It is done”. Many people have been writing of personal experience where they have felt Mohanji’s hand protecting them.

Today for me there are no burning questions in my mind as to what happened on that day of the flag hoisting, only inner realisation that it is only through silence of the mind, acceptance, of what is without judgement or documentary and in increasing awareness, true faith and patience that all your desires, intentions and thoughts get revealed. Lifetimes get cleansed in its own good time by the Guru, no sooner or later. My wish to see a deeper facet of Mohanji was granted. Befriend silence and much more will come to you. Wow, that simple!

My deepest of the deepest gratitude to Mohanji for giving me this precious opportunity to travel with Him and Mohanji family, allowing me to be a witness to a deeper side of Him, HANUMANJI! Allowing me to ask Him questions even though He knew they were sometimes irrelevant and mind-oriented questions. He patiently answered them with clarity and most times seeing ‘the penny drop’ in me.

I thank You Mohanji for every moment in Your presence even now, You are 1000 of miles away from me but am aware You are here with me in essence, in everything bathed in pure divinity. Please accept this account of my experience at Your lotus feet.

Jai Shri Brahmarishi Mohanji

“Those who have eyes will see”:

The Mahesh’s, Jelena’s and Priti’s experiences of about the appearance of Lord Hanuman in Mohanji’s face have been direct experiences and indeed experiences that will remain one of the highest experiences of their lives as well as everyone else’s who reads this.

During the Rishikesh retreat in December 2017, a view from Mohanji’s room window also spotted as Hanuman’s face directly looking at His room. This was spotted by two devotees and was captured by their ordinary phone camera.

Back in 2014, on Hanuman Jayanthi, Lata and Ganesh’s residence in Virginia USA, Hanuman appeared on Mohanji’s photo! On the morning of Hanuman Jayanthi, while Lata had already left for work, Ganesh performed the special puja on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanthi, offered prasad and aarti. Just before leaving the Puja room, he suddenly felt the urge to take a picture and took out his phone to click one. However, since he was in a rush, without seeing the photo that he had just clicked, he rushed to his office. On his way, while stuck at a traffic light, he took out his phone to call someone. Suddenly the photo that he had clicked before leaving home, popped up. The vision in the photo was astounding for him, as it showed Mohanji’s face as Hanuman’s face. This was a photo taken in a room with normal sunlight, no flashing lights used or no trick photography done. An ordinary phone clicking a normal photograph, had indeed captured an extraordinary vision. This was an indication of a very high value, that his devotion had been accepted and divine presence had been exhibited! Whether you are in proximity of the master or thousands of miles away, the true connection with consciousness, together with devotion and surrender can bring forth any miracles! Here is the extraordinary photo that was captured by Ganesh’s ordinary camera, leaving a powerful thought for everyone!

Mohanji Hanumanji by Ganesh
Whether you are in proximity of the master or thousands of miles away, the true connection with consciousness, together with devotion and surrender can bring forth any miracles!

Mohanji’s stature is such that, in a very subtle and unassuming way, He shows His reality to the people who are very much connected to His consciousness, without much hype about anything. Connection to His consciousness being the key, whether in the physical proximity or not whoever is destined to experience Mohanji’s multiple dimensions will indeed get a chance to see it. Divine miracles will be a reality to devotees when there is pure and unconditional love and surrender to the master. Merger with the supreme consciousness then is not far away!

“Beware. Be aware. I am not another. I am not Rama, Krishna, Buddha, Jesus, Sai, Hanuman as well as any masters or avatars of the past or future. I am Mohanji of the present time. I am born as Mohanji and will die as Mohanji. When “I” do not exist, everything exists, including this one that is known as Mohanji. Be clear. Do not be deluded. Do NOT connect to me as someone else, or else you will be disappointed. Your superimposition will not work on me. Connect to me, if you want to, as Mohanji, accepting all the weaknesses and strengths that this incarnation carries.” Mohanji

This 21st June 2016 we celebrate 1 year of launching of dynamic meditation technique Conscious Walking created by Mohanji. As we look back at the past year we feel so much gratitude for the blessing that Mohanji has showered upon us by gifting this powerful technique to the world. We feel immense gratitude towards all who participated in the conscious walks, in organizing them and spreading the word far and wide so many more can benefit.

What started as a small conscious step on International Yoga Day, became a big step on a worldwide scale spreading to many cities and countries globally. Conscious Walking events have been and still are organized regularly in USA, CANADA, UK, ROMANIA, HUNGARY, SERBIA, CROATIA, MACEDONIA, UAE, QATAR, INDIA, SOUTH AFRICA, MAURITIUS, AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND.

Experience sharing from Yohan, UK:

“After being inspired by yesterday’s Satsang, waking up to a wonderful fresh sunny morning, with a headache, I thought, why not go for CW in West Harrow Park? Set the alarm for 30 minutes time and off I went. The cool breeze and warm sunlight was magical. Then the alarm went and needed to hurry back home for work as I was already late. The inner voice commanded stop and chant the Gayatri and Surya Mantras. I duly obeyed and the chanted Mohanji’s Gayatri Mantra. Love was pouring through and I could feel the presence of Sathya Sai, Shirdi Sai and many archangels. When I opened my eyes I could see the golden white prana throughout the entire park. No headache. Just gratitude and divine love. Mohanji has given us an amazing gift, with practice, it will transform us.”

Experience sharing from Daniela, Croatia:

“Before any kind of sound was created, silence must have existed. Without silence, there is no sound. Silence is the foundation. Sound is an upgrade. Silence is form, sound is content. Silence is absolute, sound is relative. When we walk consciously, focus is on silence between inhalation and exhalation. In fact, focus isn’t on the silence itself, but on something in us which existed as the absolute foundation before there was any kind of content. Focus on silence isn’t just Silence, but a true encounter with ourselves.”

Experience sharing from Ágnes Horányi, Hungary:

“I was feeling as if I had done it a lot of times before. When I started, after a while I felt my body was so heavy that I didn’t know how to move. Then I let my body be moved by everpresent force, as I couldn’t feel myself as a mover of my body any more. Such a beautiful feeling.”

Experience sharing from Kristina, Croatia:

“As I gradually became aware of the gaps between breathing in and breathing out the breathing itself became slower and the gaps became longer. At one point I started to feel I could cease breathing. After Walking I sat in a meditation, breathing through my spine up and down, facing towards the sun. I love Conscious Walking and the feeling of lightness after.”

Experience sharing from Ljiljana Stojsic, Serbia:

“After today’s Conscious Walking in our beautiful park,
which since this morning was shrouded again in tender white, snow cover, I felt wonderful and holistically regenerated, energized, happy and enthusiastic. During the walk I felt a deep joy, gratitude and love and the precious unity among us all, for which I’m so thankful. That profound and already confirmed realization of the unbreakable bond between everything and all of us and the knowing that we are all connected in such a powerful, beautiful way, is for me the greatest divine gift received so far.
I’m eternally grateful.”

Experience sharing from Seema, South Africa:

“When you worship the ground you walk on and the people that make your life worthwhile, you realise that life is so simple. We just complicate it. CW has helped me be calmer, more focused and happy.”

Experience sharing from Jelena, Serbia:

“I felt like walking lasted for hours, but I wanted more. Supported, grounded, conscious of everything happening inside, but all around me as well. I felt the connection and Oneness with Mohanji presence as always.”

Experience sharing from Zoran, Macedonia:

“When I started the meditation I had so many thoughts racing one after another…I was sure it will be a struggle to meditate effectively… but half way through the momentum of consistent practicing of CW got the gears and pulled me through in the clear space of witnessing and centering in the spine. It was yet another wonderful CW experience.”

Experience sharing from Daniela, Croatia:

“When we walk consciously, we walk as quickly as it suits us, mostly it’s a average speed – neither too fast, nor too slow (in my case). Focus is on the spine. Walking happens automatically, as well as looking downwards. Focusing on the spine also comes automatically at one point. Nevertheless, there is a moment in Conscious Walking which doesn’t come automatically. It requires our full attention. When we walk consciously, we direct our attention towards the small break which comes in between inhalation and exhalation. I’ll name it SILENCE (that’s what it is actually).

In between that two fragments of Silence, there’s an inhalation or an exhalation. Inhalation is a path from point A to point B, while exhalation is a path from the point B back to the point A. That’s how we’ve got a feeling that there’s time needed to get from the point A to B, and than back to the point A.
A and B points are those small fragments of Silence which comes in between inhalation and exhalation. The whole process can also be depicted as a circle – a path which leads us back to that starting point again.

As breathing comes naturally and continuously without stopping, there’s no way for us to overstay in that point of Silence. It seems that it constantly escapes us and that our attention keeps going to the inhalation or exhalation while it stops briefly in that very same point of Silence. In Conscious Walking by Mohanji, we have to be aware of that small break between inhalation and exhalation. We have to be aware of the Silence. It is impossible to study that point, it’s impossible to stay in it, because it’s situated in a gap.

The problem is probably in the very same perception of what is going on in the process. What if there exists only that point of Silence and nothing else? What if there’s no longitude, not even a circle, nothing but that very same point?

Distance is actually a path which a point takes through time. There’s the Point, there’s Time, and there’s the Path. But in fact, there’s nothing but that very same Point – everything else is just a manifestation of that Point. These different manifestations create the illusion that the Point seems to vanish and time is needed to go back to that Point.

If I’m focused on that point of Silence, I never even come out of it, neither I come back to it, because it’s present in every moment as a Foundation. The foundation which allows those inhalations and exhalations to flourish
.”

Experience sharing from Caroline, Australia:

“Before the Conscious Walk, I connected to Mohanji’s consciousness through the eye card and listened to/mentally chanted Mohanji’s Gayatri Mantra on my phone. I find that connecting to Mohanji’s consciousness prior to the Conscious Walking meditation enhances the effect of my practice. During the Conscious Walk, I was watching the frenzy of thoughts arising and falling in the choppy sea of my untamed mind. Quite honestly, I was also skeptically thinking that today’s meditative walk was not really effective for me in my preoccupied state of mind. Finally we reached the end point of our Conscious Walking circuit, where we usually sit and meditate a while longer under a big, beautiful tree. I finally unlocked my eyes, and raised my head, only to find that I could hardly move. I felt quasi-paralyzed by such a feeling of deep peace, that all I could do was sit and bask in profound silence and bliss for the next ten or so minutes. The inverted pyramid meditation that we practiced next provoked an incredibly strong tingling sensation in my lower body, especially while chanting on the root chakra and meditating on my connection with Mother Earth. I felt so connected, grateful, at peace, loved by and in love with Mother Earth and all of Creation. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of universal consciousness, oneness, unconditional love or the unfathomable nature of the Supreme that I’ve ever had. Thank you so much Mohanji for guiding me to this glimpse of a greater glory. With deep gratitude and love, from Caroline in North Queensland, Australia.”

Experience sharing from Shivani, UK:

“Conscious Walk today… I have been practicing this since its launch in June. Everyday (nearly) for about 15-20 minutes, I do conscious walk barefoot. Apart from the profound silence that engulfs me suddenly, it also helps to totally connect with Mother Earth. As I place each foot forward, its like kissing the ground with my feet. I have felt totally grounded and the energy from the earth leaves me refreshed for the whole day. Practicing walking consciously has greatly facilitated the development of mindfulness in ordinary daily life. Learning to establish awareness during walking, when I am physically moving with my eyes open has helped me to arouse that same wakeful quality during other activities, such as practicing yoga, eating, washing dishes, or driving. It is easier to arouse mindfulness while walking to the shop, through the park, or during any other time. Meditation has begun to permeate my entire life.
Sai Ram.”

Experience sharing from Sanja, Croatia:

“We had beautiful autumn morning, perfect for walk. When we have just started walking, lot of thoughts was running through my mind and I thought that it will ruin my conscious walking because I cannot focus. All of a sudden, my legs became really heavy, as if it weighed 100 kilo, it made me to walk even more slowly, and as I walked very very slow- my mind simply went off. I realised that even if I wasn’t walk fast in the beginning, my mind was in the fifth gear, so when I slowed down my physical movement, mind went off and I enjoyed all of benefits of conscious walking.”

Experience sharing from Ana, Macedonia:

“Same as every Sunday, it was wonderful…

I felt as if I am one head above myself

I had a feeling that I am taller, bigger

I was merged with nature, light as air…

OMNIPRESENT

But, what amazed me the most was our devotion and conviction 🙂

As young aspirants with huge faith, we gathered under the rain to walk consciously.

Lazar didn’t even bring an umbrella with him 🙂

And I wonder

at is that energy, what is that force?

What is that which guides us and drives us to renounce it all?

And what is that which makes me so devoted to Mohanji’s Path?

My devotion is getting bigger and bigger, and no bad weather can stop me from practicing the technique

I even ask myself?

What if the Guru tells me to jump in the river?

Would I do it?

I think that I would 🙂

Because I would know that it is good for me 🙂

Because that is the way you love ones Guru

With the WHOLE HEART

And mine… already belongs to MOHANJI”

Experience sharing from Neha Pareh, Canada:

“Ever since Mohanji has introduced Conscious Walk in our lives I have experienced that 30 mins of conscious walk each day since the past few days during my lunch hour is bringing in unbelievable stillness in my train of thoughts. I am actually smelling the breeze, hearing the birds chirp, seeing small insects that might come beneath my feet….😦 which I have many times been so unconscious about in the mad rush of this current life style. I am more conscious of each word that is let out, each thought that happens within the mind and each action that displays an expression. My food habits have changed remarkably. Each portion taken is consciously thought for. I am getting more aware of my emotions, like my anger, fatigue that the body experiences and the frustration of not getting what we believe is correct. I see clearly The meaning of Life, why have we come here and where are we going. Unconditional Love and Service is the only means and way to serve The Divine and Liberate. This technique aides us in realizing our main purpose of Liberation . Its an amazing tool to get back to oneself. With time we have become more and more dispersed…spreading far and wide in all directions, with Mohanji’s Grace and teachings, we are now becoming more aware of where we belong and what is our true nature. He showed us the way to get to the roots, He teaches us to be Love..which is our true nature….. Ananda is our nature and we must work hard to reach it by getting close to our inner self. Thank You Mohanji for imparting this very Priceless and simple method to realize our PurposeThank You Mohanji for being so generous and loving. All Your hard work …and we are getting the techniques ready on a platter……….still we at times are inconsiderate of what we receive and end up comparing with others…….
Love is Myself, Love is Thyself, Love is everywhere…………..we fail to recognize that
Recognize Him He is That, dive within, You Will find That
Mohanji is That……..We are That….
its a long and Conscious walk ahead to realize That.
But if we Consciously Walk with Divine’s Graceful hand in hand
than …….. nothing can stop us from reaching That 🙂
Awaken Thyself and Consciously Walk along this Path,
There maybe unknown turns and pot holes deep down this Path,
But Do not assume You are left all alone by your side.
Cause,,,,, HE is ALWAYS Walking along Your side,
HE is walking Your steps , HE is clearing Your Path….
He is the Light that is beaming gradually and Consciously within your heart.
Experience Thyself, within each step, feel the Oneness with Mother Nature
Come on all lets get up and Consciously Walk along this Path…
Atleast now Recognize Thyself……… You are That. You are That.”

Experience sharing from Mirjana Andres-Rogović, Croatia:

“I wasn’t expecting it will be that powerful. Even after first few minutes of conscious breathing, the walk became almost bodiless, I didn’t feel my ankles, which otherwise slip and twist on rocks, and in the moments between in breath and out-breath all stones became slightly blurred, and than in that brief moment of total peace, they became round and even like eggs in a casket. As if I was looking with my Soul and not with my eyes. When I came tip the end of the road, I felt i could move ahead walking further on the sea. It was difficult to stop, as if I was blocked in flight, because when I did stop the trees continued moving as if moving away from me, and that continued for some time. WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ALL. LOVE YOU UNCONDITIONALLY.”

Experience sharing from Nirupma, India:

“Conscious Walking for half an hour in the morning has given me solace and peace. You become one with yourself. Your whole body gets filled up with love, tears flow. And after CW when you sit on a bench in the park with closed eyes it seems as if you are part of universe, everything is moving and you are floating in it.”

Tradition never leaves you

Written by Sumit Partap Gupta

Tradition never leaves us…once we embrace the tradition
Tradition never leaves us…once we embrace the tradition

With the Grace and blessings of our Master would like to share some key insights and hidden messages in the amazing blog “Born from the fire.”

This story awakens my understanding and throws light on many aspects of the eternal truths of our tradition. This truly opens one’s eyes..

Tradition never leaves us…once we embrace the tradition; it takes care of us always through time and space, through lifetimes which is an eternal promise. Atmananda Chaithanaya who is Aghora Baba himself found and met Rama Shastri. Rama who was living his life compassionately and doing his business ethically could easily recognize His Gurudeva.  It was his well-kept purity of inner space that allowed him that instant recognition. In today’s business world, due to greed for profits, most people never take care of their inner space and contaminate them unconsciously. Business also can be done in a pure way which benefits everyone. This is a great lesson to be learned. The advantage of being pure within is the gift of the “true eyes” to see.

When Atmanandaji  gave money to Aruna the second time to fetch some sweets from Rama’s shop, He was very much aware that Rama would not be in the shop and that his granddaughter would readily accept the money for the sweets.  The hidden message was that Atamanadji knew that Panduranga’s journey was about to get over and after eating the sweets, Panduranga’s last desire would be fulfilled and he would breathe his last. To cut Panduranga’s last karmic bond Atmananda himself gave money to Aruna for sweets. There are two aspects to it. The same morning, Rama Shastri had delivered sweets and food as usual.. Atmananda could have saved some sweets for Panduranga. He did not. Instead He chose to spend money from his pocket and buy more. In a way, as I understand, Atmananda fulfilled two debts at the same time. 1. He paid for the services rendered by the pious Rama Shastri. (There were no sweets in his shop. Atmananda materialized the sweets and also paid for it). Secondly, he indirectly paid Panduranga also, for his services, through the final fulfillment of his deep desire for sweets. And this also can be looked at as a kind of Dakshina or a gift of money a father might give to his son who is embarking on a long journey. Even though physical cash was not given, this can be considered as dakshina.

He is everything, yet he is nothing. Non-conformity in its perfection!
He is everything, yet he is nothing. Non-conformity in its perfection!

On the other hand Aruna’s mind didn’t understand the logic behind Atmananda’s action of sending him to fetch the sweets but he never questioned his Master. He never asked  “ Why “. A perfect sign of our tradition. The all-knowing master is never questioned and the ego, intellect and mind is totally surrendered at the feet of the master. His wish is the disciple’s command. We must also understand that a thought indeed sprouted in the mind of Aruna as to “WHY” which itself showed that he has indeed miles to go in surrender. Atmananda perhaps wanted to prove this aspect to Aruna too. That is probably why he chose Aruna for this errand. Atmananda was also about to leave his body. If Aruna does not shed his last remnants of resistance now, he may have to come back again into the birth-death cycle. A golden lesson indeed!

Aghora Baba represents Shiva, Vishnu & Shakti Bhaav. These are the three main aspects that constitutes three major paths of Hinduism. Shivaite path, Vaishnavaite path and the Shakti path (The goddess). (This is not Shaktipat, the transfer of energy from a guru to a disciple)  In other words, Aghora Baba represented the whole Hinduism. The Shiva Bhaav was evident from his face and appearance, celestial fragrance emitting from his body represented the Vishnu Bhaav, His action of carrying a skull always in His hand and dancing naked on the burning pyre along with His group portrayed His Kali Bhaav. So, he represented the whole aspects of Hinduism in its totality. He is everything, yet he is nothing. Non-conformity in its perfection!

It takes deep devotion and clear and clean inner space. The rest is grace.
It takes deep devotion and clear and clean inner space. The rest is grace.

Aghora Baba used to dance naked and be with naked women. People accused him of promoting prostitution and indulging in all kinds of bad habits but Aghora Baba represents   “The Source ” and One who is the source Himself is beyond any expressions, impressions and cannot be put into any frame of morality. In fact with His own life, he was mocking at the fragile morality of the villagers, who wear masks of morality at convenience. Deep fear held them back from attacking the powerful Baba head on. This is also another mirror to the society. A challenge to be fearless! Living in burial ground, that too with His disciples, fire rituals in funeral fire, dancing in fire etc signifies, total denial of any norms and total control over fear of all kinds. Modern man may call it insanity. But, Babaji’s life is more of a bold statement towards the fragile, fearful and tamasic society.

Aghora Baba is fearsome to the society. But, when he touched the young Rama Shastri, he had motherly love and kindness. He was kindness incarnate. This is a far cry from what the society thought of him (as a drunkard, womanizer and a mad man). Society gave him fears and Babaji removed his fears. Another sign of our tradition! General society often condition minds. It sows seeds of fears. A true guru removes all fears and instills faith and devotion instead. This was the transformation that Rama Shastri experienced. Inner purity was all that mattered for the blessings to flow.

Later years proved the selflessness of Rama Shastri and Babaji came back to bless him as Atmananda. And he was also blessed with the recognition of the familiar fragrance. There are many occasions in life where mind does not permit recognition when the action takes place. This takes grace. And Rama had sufficient grace to have this recognition. It takes deep devotion and clear and clean inner space. The rest is grace.

His all actions are purpose bound, just like his words. There is nothing wasted, even a breath.
His all actions are purpose bound, just like his words. There is nothing wasted, even a breath.

Atmananda is unassuming, ordinary to public eyes, but extra ordinary to those who have uncontaminated inner space. This is typical of any Datta Guru. He has amazing siddhis, but will never display them for his benefit or to create an impression. His all actions are purpose bound, just like his words. There is nothing wasted, even a breath. This is a golden lesson for life. Waste nothing in life, everything is precious and god given. There is absolute clarity in thoughts, words and action. But, never interferes in karmic flow of others. Again, this is typical of our tradition. Every words or actions of his have multiple purposes. His visit to the place where we see him in this story has two or three different reasons. Panduranga’s fulfillment, death, Rama Shastri’s fulfillment, Aruna’s education, clearing karmic debts as well as promises etc. What we can perceive with our limited understanding is just the tip of the iceberg of the reality on which great saints operate. A great eye opener indeed!

Inner purity is all that matters for the blessings to flow.
Inner purity is all that matters for the blessings to flow.

The Shopkeeper’s uncle represented mindset of those people who look at life in a superficial way, they judge people immediately based on outward appearances and habits. They never care to go beyond the deceptive outward appearances sometimes taken by Higher Entities to distract people. They lose heavily in life.

The shopkeeper’s mother portrayed a mentality of a meek housewife who is neutral, influenced by both positivity and negativity time and again, a regular person full of fears. She is a typical housewife who has no voice of her own and is always afraid to leave her comfort zone, even if it costs the ultimate truth. Her conforming nature to the approved norms of the society despite evidences of truth otherwise.

The other lesson we can learn is that NEVER judge a Master from a worldly point of view and through other peoples opinion. Always listen to your heart and your own truth. Other’s words could be terribly deceptive.

Eternal Gratitude...
Eternal Gratitude…

The New Year’s Eve and Beyond

The sun set on December 31st 2012, behind the serene hills away from the view of “Sarvajna Peetam”. “Sarvajna Peetam” is deeply associated with the great master, Avatar of Lord Shiva, Adi Shankaracharya. It is said that he attained the pinnacle of spiritual elevation and dissolved into the supreme consciousness at this place. (Some people say that the place where he left his body is in Himalayas). Nevertheless, this place is of great importance to any seeker of truth. Adi Shankara is said to have left behind nothing but a bunch of flowers when he dissolved completely. His body was never found.

Idol of AdiShankaracharya at Sarvajna Peetam
Idol of Adi Shankaracharya at Sarvajna Peetam

In order to reach here, and to spend the night here, it is quite challenging – if not impossible. As always with Mohanji, pre-planning cannot work. This was a spontaneous decision. Our friends and companions Madhu and Raju suggested us trekking up the hill from Kudajaadri, the place where Maha Kali killed the demon Mahisha and the trident that she used to kill Mahisha still stands as a testimony and warning towards all that is evil in the world. When dharma decays, destruction happens! This is the loud message. Scientists have experimented on the material with which the tall and imposing trident protruding out into the sky was made and could not yet determine the exact metal with which it is made. Divine creation, who can fathom!

Trident of Mahishasuramardini at Kudajaadri. When she killed Mahisha with the Trident, the Mahishasura must have got buried under the ground. So now what is seen is the just top handle of the trident!
Trident of Mahishasuramardini at Kudajaadri. When she killed Mahisha with the Trident, because of the force, Mahishasura got buried under the ground. So now what is seen is the just top handle of the trident! Imagine the size of the whole trident!!!

Our vehicle could only bring us up to this place where the trident is, at Kudajaadri. Then, from there to Sarvajna Peetam, we had to trek up almost a kilometer and a half. It is tough. It is literally an “uphill” task. And we had to carry everything as there is nothing available except a bare hill and the temple of Adi Shankara at Sarvajna Peetam. This place is very close to the “ChitraMoola” or “SiddharMoola”, a rock protruding out of the hill overlooking the valley where Adi Shankara meditated on Shakti and Devi materialized/ appeared to Him. He requested the Devi to follow Him to Kerala. Devi agreed on one condition. Adi Shankara would walk in front and Devi would follow. If he turns around once, doubting if she is following, she will stop following. In other words, it was a test of faith. If faith falters even for a moment, when doubt happens, grace will leave. Tall order indeed, but inevitable and essential if the aim is to reach the highest pinnacle of human existence.

Adi Shankara agreed and started walking. He could hear the sound of jingles that the Goddess wore around her ankles, behind him, which assured Him of Her presence behind Him. He was re assured that Devi is following Him. As he reached Kollur, which is about 40 kilometers downhill, the sound of Devi’s jingles stopped. Adi Shankara became suspicious if Devi has stopped following Him. He turned to look. Devi was very much behind him, but, since the vow is broken, Devi said, “I will not follow you anymore. I will stay here at Kollur Mookambika Temple”. She merged with the already existing self-born power center and thence forth, the temple became known as Mookambika Temple. The place is Kollur in Karnataka State of India. Adi Shankara depended on his senses (ears) to ascertain Devi’s presence instead of his faith. Faith should surpass the senses and mind always. Senses and mind always limits us.

Even though the Goddess merged with the stone, Adi Shankara made/materialized an idol which is the replica of the image of Devi that he witnessed. All the decorations are done on this idol, while all the offerings are done on the stone which has a golden lining in the middle. Right side of the Golden lining represents the trinity, Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva and left side represents, Goddesses Saraswati, Mahalakshmi, Durga and Kali. This round flat stone has its dimension below the earth to almost 42 kilometer radius. It is like the visible tip of a huge iceberg. And the saying is that “Nobody leaves this place empty handed. This is a wish fulfilling power center”.

Travelling with Mohanji is always unique. There is absolute spontaneity and no pre-planning. He de-conditions us constantly through words and actions. It is not easy, but quite rewarding. While living it, we may not see its depth. When we look back at the things past, a silent “WOW” swells inside. Subtle are the ways of the Datta path indeed!

How did we arrive at this place away from the average human ken! And what brought us here! Mohanji would only give a pregnant smile. He knows but will never show. No planning was involved regarding where to go and where to stay. Mohanji stayed where he got the place, he ate when he got the food. It was indeed a true wandering. Facilities just opened up. Everyone was satisfied. Nobody complained. No ego. No expectations! No comfort zones!

He met many saints. He visited many temples. He took efforts to visit many ashrams as he came to know about them, on the way. He was welcomed at all places very well. The whole journey was just a grand happening and flowing with time and space. Many people flocked around him, even if they did not know him. Most received what they wanted. Mohanji kept moving ahead giving what others needed, ignoring his needs. Every place he visited, someone from our family accompanied him and experienced this, Venkat, Sumit, Madhu, Phaneender, Krishnan, Vineeta, Namrata, Jayant, Deepali to name a few.

Jeep to go to Kudajaadri
Jeep to go to Kudajaadri. Mohanji the navigator…

Never knew what Kudajaadri is until the journey started and we arrived! Geographically, Kudajaadri is a place 25-30 km away from Kollur Mookambika temple in Karnataka state of India. One travels by jeep to high mountains and then either walk 8km or reach the peak by jeep itself. Road is unmetalled,  extremely rough and raw. During the travel, on one side you see deep valley, full of trees and thick jungle, in fact you actually perceive the depth of the valley, almost 1400 meters! Other side is tall mountain. Eyes never get tired capturing the spell binding beauty of nature. The road… to be least said about it… totally raw with big dips at times almost 2-3 feet deep, continuous U-pin bends as one travels up on the mountains. The drivers are very skillful but the ride could be scary for us at times… body is shaken to extremes, don’t know what happens to mind and our precious intelligence! 🙂 Keeping balance was difficult during the rough drive but Mohanji was sitting on the front seat next to driver .. completely still and silent! Madhu, Raju and I sitting at back side were trying every possible support to root ourselves tightly on the seat and be inside the jeep! This drive was for 3 hours only. We reached Kudajaadri just before the sunset.

Walk to the Sarvajna Peetam
Up hill walk to the Sarvajna Peetam from Kudajadri…

We witnessed a spontaneous miracle on the way. We hired the vehicle from Kollur. Usually, no drivers are interested to stay at Sarvajna Peetam because of the extreme cold climate at that height and lack of proximity to any shops or even a toilet. We bought all the stuff that we might require up there at night, from the small town that we passed. The vehicle driver agreed to stay with us and take us back to Kollur the next day morning. This was indeed a miracle. Without our knowledge, he had bought a couple of bottles of alcohol which he hid in his backpack, and he used it as back support while he drove the vehicle. Apparently, the bottles were hidden inside his clothes to keep it safe and invisible. As we reached half way, and as our vehicle turned into the rough roads that lead to the higher altitude, two policemen appeared from nowhere, stopped the vehicle, just picked up the back pack of the driver with fluency and purposefulness, and picked up just the two bottles hidden in his clothes! Perhaps the policemen knew that all drivers do this. They never checked any of our bags. They just picked up the bottles and left us. They also said that the driver could claim it back on his way back! Mohanji had a smile on his face while the whole incident was taking place, as he was the only one sitting in the front seat along with the driver. Mohanji always expressed his sense of humor. He kept teasing the driver on our way back, asking him if he want to claim the “empty bottles” back from the police! Mohanji obviously did not want anyone in our group to carry alcohol or meat to such a sacred destination! This was just not a pilgrimage, but, in a way, this was the trip of a lifetime. This was the trip to culminate the past and change a new leaf in our lives. The eventful year 2012 was ending and a fresh new life was beginning. The depth of it, we will come to know only in the days ahead.

We arrived at Kudjaadri and after having darshan of Devi’s huge trident and the temples around, we started our journey up hill. We carried our bags of essentials as well. The mind was still looking at the vastness and expanse of the beautiful nature and the deep valley. The cold breeze would at times turn into blowing wind which penetrates through your head and ears. Seeing thick trees and jungle and listening to chirping of birds was quite relaxing indeed. I had never seen these varieties of trees before. I was slow to walk. Mohanji had gone ahead faster, but he would wait for me in between.

We reached the peak of the mountain and noticed the small temple “Sarvajna Peetam”, the place from where Adi Shakracharya received the ultimate knowledge and dissolved into the universe!

Last Sunset of the year 2012
Last Sunset of the year 2012. The rigorous, up hill, yet spectacular journey called LIFE!

Mohanji was quiet throughout the journey and walk. He also ate very little. He was totally within Himself. Witnessing the last sunset of the year 2012, the year of the shift of consciousness with Mohanji was a memorable experience. As we arrived at the Sarvajna Peetam, Mohanji went straight to the temple, with an unmistakable familiarity. Temple was old. Temple and the surrounding area are part of the reserved forest and certainly ignored and not at all maintained; but there was no dearth of energy. A sensitive person could definitely feel the strong and soothing divine energy. Of course, when Mohanji is around or even when one connects to his consciousness – even if he is not physically around, we could certaily feel his energy. At this place, with his presence, the whole experience was intensified or even magnified. On entering the temple, seeing the idol of Adi Shankaracharya, I felt that energy more prominently at heart, throwing me into silence and gratitude. There was unmistakable compassion in that energy.

Shree Chakra and other chakras and yantras forming Meru on the roof of Sarvajna Peetam
Shree Chakra and nine other chakras and yantras forming Meru on the roof of Sarvajna Peetam

The inside of the stone temple was very peculiar. The roof has various yantras and chakras carved and whole structure forms a Meru.  Nine chakras and one Sree Chakra depicted on the stone of the roof! What a sight! The most auspicious Shree Chakra is right above the idol of Shankaracharya, placed at the middle of the sanctum sanctorum! Bliss indeed!

Madhu is a businessman, who owns business and property in India, Oman and UAE. He hosted us during our trip to Bhagawan Nithyananda’s abode at Kanhangad in Kerala. He belongs to that place. Madhu had a desire to stay at Sarvajna Peetam since long. He could not believe that his wish is getting fulfilled on the night of 31st Dec 2012 and that too with Mohanji. Madhu is a silent person and humbly devoted to Mohanji. Madhu was filled with pure joy.

There was a group of 6 people. They knew each other. They were connected to one saint of the Jnana Yoga path called Siddhar Das. This group has been regularly spending every year end at Sarjna Peetam since the last 6 years! Mohanji makes friends very easily. People also somehow get magnetically attracted towards him. Soon, all started interacting.  Mohanji was talking very little. Answering exactly what is needed that too in short. The language was Malayalam so, I cannot translate anything. Mohanji was in his own realm, sitting quietly, just on the floor, leaning back on the pillar at the edge of the temple with his shawl around.

Night of 31 Dec 2012 at Kudajaadri... Solitude descended on us as the grace from heavens.
Night of 31 Dec 2012 at Kudajaadri… Solitude descended on us as the grace from heavens.

There were many people – mostly youngsters, smoking, shouting and running around, when we arrived towards the sunset of January 31st. There were some families and children too. Soon, after sunset, everyone departed, went back to Kudajaadri, downhill. The general rumor which the tiny snack vendor articulated was that since there are possibilities of forest fires triggered by camp fires and since there were incidents such as alcoholism and quarrels in the past years, the police and forest guards usually do not permit people to sleep the night over. They drive everyone to camps at Kudajaadri. Because of this fear, all left, except us, Mohanji, Madhu, myself, Raju and our driver Biju, plus the six people including Swami Siddhar Das. The place became quiet as the sun set and the priest of the temple also left for Kudajaadri. The juice and snack vendor packed his bags and left too. Solitude descended on us as the grace from heavens.

Soon it became dark. Apart from a small oil lamp burning inside the sanctum sanctorum, there were no lights. When electricity had not reached that height, how could lights be there! Breeze was mild with tolerable cold. There was never a chill as predicted by the driver and other companions. Lightening was continuously happening on our left side of the temple in the sky, afar. Occasionally it thundered threatening a rain; and even though some predicted rain, it never rained. Some of you who travelled with us to Kailas would remember the snow fall that we witnessed on our left side while we reached Manasarovar and the prediction of our guide that we may only have about an hour to take the dip before the cloud rains ice on our side of Manasarovar. After Mohanji said “Enjoy as much as you like”, how those clouds went around and vanished towards Kailas! This was quite similar.

Even food was sumptuous. Both our groups unpacked our kitties and food flowed and the evening dinner was delicious. Madhu got to know that, we cannot cook there due to forest rules.  So, he asked the priest if he could get some sambar-rice. Priest walked down all that distance and got us hot rice by 9pm. The food was simple and quite satisfying.

Mohanji slept on a simple mat inside the sanctum sanctorum just next to the idol of Adi Shankaracharya, under the shield of many chakras  and meru of the stone roof!  Few of us accommodated ourselves outside the sanctum sanctorum. Some made fireplace down on the ground and slept there. Spending a night at Sarvajna Peetam! Think about it! Well, thinking has no scope. There was only silence. Silence of thoughts! Earlier, when there was some signal on telephone, a message to Sumit was managed to inform all that Mohanji is at Sarvjna Peetam and cannot respond to greetings personally. Mohanji knew that many will be trying to contact him on year end. Mohanji wanted to send new-year message to you all. He sent a new year’s message to all through Sumit.

By midnight, two guards came to check on us. They never quite disturbed us, and went their way, after ensuring that we are fine. We had a peaceful night.

The First Sun of 2013..
The First Sunrays of 2013.. the eventful year 2012 has ended and a fresh new life began… the depth of it we will know only in the days ahead..

The quiet night was over. Mohanji got up early. He was quietly gazing at the sky and had deep piercing look all around the nature. Soon, with beautiful display of colors, the first sun of the 2013 showed its glory. Mohanji bowed down to the Sun god. Our New Year started at Sarvajna Peetam, with Mohanji!

Deep gratitude to Adi Shankaracharya for the beautiful stay over at Sarvajna Peetam

We packed and started descending. Before we started, we bowed down to the idol of Adi Shankara and thanked Him for hosting us so beautifully, and providing us everything that one could imagine, at a no man’s place.

The descend journey through those thick trees..
The downhill journey through the thick  tall trees..

All those who were regularly coming there said, “We have never had such beautiful time here! This time, weather was comfortable, neither had it rained, nor was it cold. Apart from 10 of us, no one else was there; as if this was a special time and place kept for us. Many times we have faced strong winds and extreme chill. Sometimes, people drink alcohol here; eat non-veg disturbing the sanctity of the place. This was the best spiritual experience we ever had. We feel relaxed and light”. I do not know how much they understood Mohanji, but they were certainly grateful to Mohanji.

The group
Madhu, Sidhar Das, Mohanji and the whole group

On our way down, we worshipped the Ganapti idol which is inside the Ganapati cave. This is also such a powerful place. Since there was no priest there, Mohanji served holy water to everyone. We descended down to Kudajaadri, through the forest, near the Ganapati cave.

We descended down and arrived at Kollur Mookambika temple on January 1st 2013, and had the darshan of the eternal Goddess on the auspicious day of the year.

Unpredictability is the beauty of our existence. Flexibility adds flavor to our existence. When we are stiff and rigid, we fail to enjoy life. This message from Mohanji was ringing loud and clear in everyone’s mind. What a New Years Eve!

The wandering
Mohanji – wandering away into eternity. Always with us, yet, always beyond us!!!

Love and regards,
